Default Fatal Alert - Fatal Exception

    Hi

The new Palm m515 showed the msg Fatal Alert Fatal Exception error and freezes on me far too often...I thought it was due to the applications loaded (as suggested by the knowledge base). However this still appeared on a hard reset. Occassionally, I get a "MemMgr...Line 3090" error message...suggesting an O/S problem...I would appreciate if members of this forum can help me...is this a hardware or software problem? Does warranty cover replacements? Tks

When you thought it was the loaded applications did you mean 3rd party applications? If so, after your hard reset and synch did you be sure not to have them load again?

    Default HARDWARE!

I had similar problems, and the incresing frequency of fatal errors was immensely maddening. After altogether too many hard resets and careful reinstallations to find the corrupted program, I took my m515 back to Best Buy and exchanged it. My second model has performed flawlessly after restoring the supposedly corrupt program.

Get another unit! After clearing up my issues, I could not be more pleased with my 4th Palm product.

Yes, the warranty covers replacements for up to a year after the purchase. I would recomend getting a replacement also since it still gets the fatal error even after you've preformed a hard reset.

    Lightbulb take it back

I had the same problems months ago, it took me a couple of weeks to find out that my unit was defective, I am betting that your unit is defective too.

If a hard reset does not do the trick, give it back and get a new one! The replacement that I got runs very well
