Hmmm... well, I'd suggest the m515.

Personally I've had problems with my m500-series handhelds (both m505 and m515) and as you can see from the threads here there are more people with problems regarding these models. If economy is the biggest pull, go for a m100-series (m130 for example), but if you have somewhat more to spend the m515 sure is a nice companion (if you are lucky and get a problem free unit that is).
Of course, if you are willing to go for a non-Palm device (only Palm OS based) I would suggest looking into the Sony models as these offer more features than the m500-series (like better audio features and higher screen resolution).
Hope this helps.-=<([ FungusMental ])>=-
PDA History: Palm V > Palm IIIe > IIIx > IIIc > m500 > m505 > m515 > Tungsten T > Tungsten E2 + HP iPAQ hx2790
(And no, I haven't gone through all of these because I've been rough on them...
)
Expansion cards: 16Mb MMC, 32Mb MMC, 512Mb SD, 2Gb SD, 128Mb CF, 4Gb CF

That's not really a fair thing to say. This is a Palm message board where people with problems come to solve them. 90% of what you read on any forum like this is complaints or issues with the posters' PDA.Originally posted by FungusMental

Most people have problem-free 515s...that's why they don't post on here.

Well, I realize I was a bit hasty there when I wrote that, sorry.
However, everthing else in the posting is relevant. Hope it helps.

I second, third and fourth that notion

Get the m515! I bought one the first day they came out...not a problem since.Everything is a differentiation of One Infinity.

I have the m505 and have really liked it - no problems at all (outside of operator error) and if I were to upgrade I'd go with the 515 seeings as how I have a bunch of m5xx series accessories. But man-o-man that Sony NR70 is so cool.

Yep.. I bet if you added up all of the users (including myself) who have posted regarding actual UNIT problems, I bet there's probably about 20 users (give or take a few). That's a teensy tiny fraction of the actual owners out there.... Okay, maybe the number of users with problems is 100, that is still a very very very small number of users compared to the actual pool of owners.
Look at how many of us have stayed WITH the m515... I'm on my 4th unit... I haven't really even been tempted to switch to a different brand when OFFERED. (Okay, because I have a lot of accessories for the m500 series... but STILL.) Even if you look at the majority of the questions here... a lot have to do with software questions, periphial questions, etc.
To determine what to get answer the following:
Do you want color? If yes, then m130, m505, m515. If not, m125, m500.
Do you want to be able to use it outside? I believe as far as color units, that would only be the m515. The non-color units I think all are viewable outside: m125, m500.
How much internal memory do you think you need? On my 16 MB unit, I have 8.5 MB used already -- and I am NOT a power user. If yes, then m515. If not, m125, m130, m500, m505.
Does the size/weight of the unit matter to you? If yes, go with a m500, m505, m515. If not, go with the m125, m130.
Screen size? If yes, go with a m500, m505, m515. If not, go with the m125, m130.
The good news is that you can start out with a m125 or m130 and buy all of the accessories (keyboard, expansion cards) -- and if you decide to upgrade, they will all work with the m500 series! (Except for the PalmPix and maybe the special cases.)
Kimberly
PS. If I am wrong about anything I've mentioned above, please someone correct me.
