Uh, Oh: m515 Sync Issues

I'm hoping that I'm not running into the same problems again:

I went out and took advantage of the Best Buy 3 year warranty to return my m505, which had experienced a SUDS problem (still don't know what that stands for), and get an m515. I restored the handheld by dropping it in the cradle and pressing the HotSync button, thereby restoring all my old apps and info. I had planned to do a program by program install, but had time constraint issues.

I've been having odd HotSync problems. The handheld will sync, but not completely. I'll get messages starting with "The connection from your handheld to the computer was lost...". Sometimes I have to sync three or four times before I can get a complete hotsync.

Also, the time between the hotsync dialog box on the PC disappears (indicating the HotSync has finished) and the time the "Cleaning up" message on the handheld is long. Sometimes the handheld will pause on that message for a good five to ten seconds.

Has anyone else experienced this problem before?

Since your Palm is communicating with your PC, you likely don't have it.

Try doing a clean re-install of the desktop software and conduits, after deleting the desktop, conduits, and hotsync manager, AND deleting all "Palm" registry keys (as well as those from pocketmirror or intellisync, etc.). You can use regedit, or to make things easier, download Lavasoft's RegHance from http://www.lsfileserv.com/downloads.html. It's a functional demo which vastly speeds up the find and delete functions.
