M100 digitizer issue
I've got a Palm M100 that has started exhibiting another maddening "feature." I changed the batteries, then hotsynched again to reload all of the data that was lost during the battery change. After the data was back in, the screen touch area shifted dramatically to the left - so much so that I cannot get the menu button to activate. I pulled the batteries, let the Palm forget everything, started it up again, was very careful to calibrate the stylus in setup, then resynched and experienced the same shift. I can't get into the main menu (touching the menu button puts you about halfway into the writing area!) to get back to setup at this point to recalibrate the screen. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Ron

Hello Ron and welcome to Brighthand!
You'll want to try installing the free CoperaDigiFix. Once you get the digitizer fixed, make sure that you turn on the option to open DigiFix on soft reset.

Welcome to Brighthand glueguy. I hope you stick around and join the forums. Alot of palm talk and all the other stuff as well.
Digifix works well. It has been on a few of my palm PDA. I also love that you are holdin it down with the palm m100.

Re: M100 digitizer issue
hi, and welcome. on my m130, before I gave up on it, I had similar problems. Sometimes you can find the Home or Menu button on the Right side of the graffiti area. Also, it sounds to me like a corrupted preferences file is causing the shift; since it shouldn't hurt, you could try doing the restore after moving the saved and unsaved preferences to a different folder.Originally posted by glueguy

Re: inahater
Hi folks!
I just wanted to thank everyone for the tips from browsing this and other threads I was able to figure out that my little old m100 was indeed suffering from Mad Digitizer Syndrome. In the process of fixing the problem for myself, I came across a tip that might help some others.
After installing digifix on my palm, it would restart after the sync process (as it had been doing, and this is where the digitizer would go haywire) and then open the preferences menu (because it wasn't being annoying enough yet.) So I still couldn't get to digifix to run it.
I grabbed my Mom's palm (which is many years newer and therefore in perfect working condition) and installed digifix on her palm, then after "synch-ing" beamed it to my m100. From there it took some hunting and pecking but I managed to tap the icon and run it... working like a champ now.
So remember... when all else fails, beam!
