problem reading datebook exported file
I have only hotsynched my Palm m100 with a laptop which is failing. I want to export a datebook file (dba format only apparently) that I can read on my Windows XP desktop but I currently have no Palm software on my desktop and I have lost the original software that came with the Palm m100. The laptop has the Palm software and the datebook I want to backup but it's running Win95. How can I get software on my desktop that will be sure to read the Palm 3.5.1 dba file on the laptop? Or, how can I transfer the Palm software, including datebook file from a Win 95 laptop to a WinXP desktop and be sure the software will work on the desktop? Or, if possible is there a way to get a hardcopy of the datebook to preserve the datebook info for future use? I need the datebook data for billing purposes so its very important to me.

From this link, you can download the version of desktop you may need.
My suggestion for a m100 with OS 3.5 is desktop version 4.1. The download claims for NT4.0 only, but checking the download today, it is the same version previously provided for other systems including XP.
If you have any additional questions just reply to this thread.

Problem reading datebook exported file
Thank you Bab. I saw that page earlier and what bothered me is this note:
Please Note:
- Palm Quick Install requires Palm OS? 4.0 or later
Doesn't this mean that it wouldn't read a Palm OS 3.5.1?

The portion of Quick install that would require the OS 4.0 or newer is dealing with installin apps/files to the expansion card.
The installer function will yet install programs to the main unit, as I have installed apps to my IIIxe with OS ver 3.5.3.Welcome to Brighthand
