    Talking Hand me down

I've upgraded my palm and handed my m100 down to my son. Can we both sync to the same computer without losing/corrupting files? I just wanna be sure I will not loose important documentation from work. I have an m500. The m100 has a serial hotsync cable and I have the USB kit to adapt to USB hotsync. Our computer has both options. If it's possible to do both what's the best method of sync'ing the M100. The M500 uses USB.

Thanks this site has been very helpful, I hope I can return the favor.

I'm probably not the best person to answer this but here goes. Set up a user ID for your son. Do a hard reset on the m100, then sync it to your son's new user ID.
I don't know advantages of USB and serial. However you do need to click on the hotsync icon in your toolbar (by the clock) and make sure both are checked if you are using both to sync. I learned this after much grief trying to get my son's hand me down m100 to sync.
We have my husband's T/E, my m130 and my son's m100 all hotsyncing on the same computer with no problems at all.
    Hope this helps.
