WiFI connection
I am trying to connect the Lifedrive to wireless network. When I start Wifi from pick list, it scans and identify the network but cannot connect by automatically assignin IP address by DHCP and cant get server IP address. However if I go to settings in wifi by edit network and enter the server/router address and enter the security key it does connects to network and I see the singal indicator. But when after connecting with netowrk, I try to surf the web by browser it cannot connect and I dont see blinking light(of power) untill it times out, similarly I cannot sync my device with PC.
I am using Belkin 128g wireless modem router.
I have not installed any extra software on LD. I have installed Update 1 and 2 available from palm site.
This problem is driving me crazy. I am disappointed because I as given by office a Dell axim X51v and it connected to network and web in flash of light?

In wifi settings, you can pick "info" to see your own mac address, the ip address you were assigned, etc. Also are you using WEP or WEP and WPA-PSK? Lastly, some routers don't work well with the LD when it comes to DNS. The router tries to be your DNS server but can't speak LD. You can get the real DNS server of your ISP by looking at your router's status page. Put that address in your LD DNS entry under "advanced" but leave IP, gateway, etc auto assigned.
As for wifi sync. Use the ip address of the machine you want to sync with. After a successful sync, the machine name shows in hotsync. If the machine's ip changes, the name is still there and it can't connect. So you end up putting in the new ip and it works again and the name shows again. You get used to it. For me, I am very close to taking my wifi hotsync machine off of dhcp and assigning it a static ip so it never changes again.
hope this helps...-Jeff

Re: WiFI connection
Forgive me if I'm asking an obvious question, but have you set any kind of security on the router?
Also, have you been able to connect to this router with any other devices?I am the former Site Editor of Brighthand, but I now run the sister-site TabletPCReview. Follow me on Twitter or Google+

Re: WiFI connection
Thanks for your advise, Deuse. I got connection w.the netgear router at my office. However, at home, have a Pre-N router that I do not know how to make it work.
With the netgear router, LD connect at no sweat. All the trouble that I am having is at home, I am still "stuck".
Please give me some more "input".

Re: WiFI connection
Is your home router set to only allow 802.11g or 802.11n equipment to connect? If so, that could be preventing your LD from connecting. Make sure the router is set to "mixed mode."
