HP Jornada 56x gets the nod from Consumer Reports (Sorry IPAQ)

Got my copy of Consumer Reports yesterday. They do a comprehensive roundup of Palm/Pocket PCs. In the Pocket PC Category they give the clear edge to the HP!!!!

IPAQ took the sting for not having a user replaceable battery.

Don't gloat too hard. If USA Today can be believed the Jornada is being scuttled by HP in favor of the iPAQ as part of the Compaq assimilation.

They also gave Hyundai a higher rating than Toyota, but that didn't appear to change the publics buying habits.

Decision: The Compaq iPAQ? Pocket PC, re-named the HP iPAQ Pocket PC, will be our smart handheld platform. The best of the current HP Jornada technology will be engineered into the platform. Jornada products will be phased out of the market in 2002."
