    Unhappy SD or just MMC?

HP's site mentions the extended battery with Multimedia Card slot... though most people call it a SD slot. Obviously they aren't the same. So what is it, really, just MMC or SD?

Actually, they are (or should be) the same. Secure Digital media only includes security features that MultiMedia Cards lack. There may also be a difference in speed. Otherwise, they both share the same format.

SD has extra pins on the connector. An SD card is also slightly thicker. So a pure MMC slot is not SD compatible.

However, I read somewhere that the HP battery slot would be SD compatible. We will find out when it becomes available.

I figured that, seeing as everybody is using SD now instead of MMC (well, almost everybody).

Trust me, I use the EM-500, and there's a big difference in speed between SD and MMC. MMC is much much slower.
