Hair? Oh geez...
I was flipping through my art gallery I put on my Jornada, you'll never guess what I found. Not only had three pieces of dust appeared under the screen right (right by the L in the Microsoft Mobile on the today screen) but a small piece of what looks like hair, string or fuzzy! It's about 1/4-1/2 CM in length.
I don't want to jump to any conclusions, but it looks to me like this stuff entered through the silo hatch. The position seems too uncanny for me to think otherwise. My Jornada was dust free for 4 days.
I'm having iPAQ flashbacks again.

P.S. My 568 is being picked up tomorrow. My replacement should be here on Thursday. Sigh. Here we go again!

I had a little tiny hair as well. Was it VERY thin and pure white?
I think the hair is actually a sliver of glass or some other byproduct of production. The normal shaking and motion of the PDA will sometimes knock these bits loose and into the display.
Try holding the device sideways and give it some firm (but not TOO hard) taps and see if you can move it off the screen. That technique worked with me.

From my experience with the iPAQ. that was the first thing I did. However, it didn't work. After I looked at it closer I determined it had to be some sort of fuzz or hair since the strand was bent.
