Thinking of gettong a 3115
As of today i found out my zire31 died so I'm looking to upgrade to a ppc with wi-fi. How do you like the 3115?? Is it reliable?? Thanks

Ian,
You're not getting many replies!! Sorry.
I bought both the hx4700 and the rx3715 to try. I took the 4700 back last week and really am happy with the 3000 series! Nice size and feature-set!
Only had mine for 6 weeks or so, but find it reliable so far -- and battery life is remarkable.
Good luck

Thanks for the help. Hopefully an electronic store near me has the rx3000 series so I can test one out. How is the wi-fi and the processor speed?

I went from a 2215 to a 3115. Even though the 3115 has a nominally slower processor (300 vs. 400 MHz), you won't notice the difference. You'll love the smooth integration of WiFi and Bluetooth and they both work flawlessly. Battery life is better than the 2215 as far as I can tell and the screen is gorgeous.
The only area where I see the 3115 being weaker than the 2215 is sound. The sound on the 3115 doesn't seem to be as rich as the sound on the 2215 (through phones, of course.) No problem with speaker volume! Also, if you use the sound recorder, you'll appreciate having an actual button for it.
And of course there's WMP 10 (available as a ROM update) and WM2003SE.
Another great thing about the 3115 - no more mushy D-Pad. I hated the D-Pad on the 2215 for it's mushiness and imprecision.
The 3700 series offers a larger file store and a camera and a faster processor, I believe. For me the 3115 is more than good enough and I didn't feel the features on the 3700 series were enough to justify the price difference.

My Personal Opinion
I got an RX3115 for christmas this year
, and let me say this. WOW! what a PDA even for a beginner (like me) to PPC's this one still blows some of the ones I have seen around away. The processer is fast enough for what ever you wanna do. The Wi-Fi is the best thing in it really, I have a home network and in minutes I was surfing the web. The Wi-Fi is fast enough to download files and chat on msn messenger, I really like this PPC its a very good upgrade after having a IIIc for like 3 years. It has Windows Mobile 2003 SE and for which I love this OS becuase in my opinion is better than Palm OS, Not for ease of use but for what it can do, I got a SanDisk 512MB SD card ( I don't mean to brag
) and I have all my MP3's on it and its more than fast enough to play movies, if your going to get a PPC I recommend this one. It will do what ever you want it to do. The cpu is 300mhz and it has 64mb of ram, the screen was the most breath taking part of it all. Very clear and vibrant
. Well I hope this helps anyone that wants to get the RX3115. Happy Computing!

Glad to see your enthusiasm, rx3115user! This little device is really the sleeper in HPs new lineup and deserves much more attention than it's getting. At $350 retail, this baby has more going for it than the e755, e740 and H2215 I owned before it and it is cheaper than any of them were. The WiFi has the best range of any PDA I've ever used with WiFi and the BT is dead simple to set up - I had it connected to my SE T610 and surfing the net in like 5 minutes.
People tend to overlook this baby for the more expensive 3400 and 3700 series, but I am in the way of thinking that the 3115 is the best value for the money PDA out there, baring none.

hehehe
i love my rx3115 becuase it was so simple!
i have had so much fun with it for the past few days now and im actually quite happy i decided to go PPC rather than Palm OS. Its not the ease of use that i went for but how much more you can do with windows mobile. Well happy computing everyone!
lol i should have added this but i forgot , umm if anyone has seen any software around i would really be interested in seing if there is a signal strength meter for the system tray for the wifi part of the RX3115. Thanks!
