Default Rom update and battery life- bad charge read from the ROM

A lot of people have referred problems with the battery life (both the standard and the extended batteries OEM and not) after upgrading to the new rom.
There are a lot of threads outside Brighthand about this issue , but I have not seen such a thread in this forum, so I started this conversation to inform Brighthand's users about the problem.

First of all I have to admit, that personally have found nothing wrong with battery life after the rom upgrade. But today I read an email answer from hp confirming the problem.
Read this thread and pay attention to post # 10 from Steve Sohn. I quote here the hp email
    Dear HP Customer,

This case is that of a bad charge read from the ROM.

Unfortunately, we do not have the exact date of release of the update.

Once it is released, it will be made available in the below mentioned web link:

    Hi,
I have the same problem since the the ROM update!

The battery remaining time in SPB plus indicates 2h06min (100%) after full charge (with standard battery) and when I insert the fully charged 3600 mAh battery it's shows me the same remaining time!

I use a 4 Giga CF Sandisk and a 2 GB SD Sandisk together.

I hope HP will fix this problem!
    Bye

This is not the same. SPB Pocket plus uses statistics in order to calculate the battery life. If you change your bstandard battery with the extended you should use it for some days in order to let Pocket Plus caclulate the new battery life.Or you should test it on your own in order to have more accurate results

It's scary how closely that form letter response was to one I received from Palm concerning an issue I was having with audio streaming over their wi-fi card.

Hopefully HP (and think they will) will actually fix the problem in a reasonable ammount of time.

I still have the same issue with wi-fi on my Palm although there have been two updates, which appear to have only added support for new devices.
