    Default tweaks2k2 and IE

I bought tweaks2k2 at version 2.7 and had no problem using the brute force option... eventually, due to god knows what, it locked up solid on me. nothing short of a hard reset would even bring the screen up. when i reinstalled everything version 2.8 was out so i upgraded, but for some reason, even tho other programs worked with brute force, Iexplore.exe (internet explorer) would not. i noticed 2.9 was out today so i upgraded again but still nothing... Internet explorer was the most important program to make vga. I have tried deactivating brute force, then soft resetting, then reactivating brute force and soft resetting, but it still does not work. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I was under the impression that IE was VGA-aware, and as a result, Tweaks2k2's brute-force VGA wouldn't work on it.

SE-VGA is nice, but the problem is that it minimizes all fonts, while Tweaks2k2's VGA-brute-force is selective about what it shrinks.

BTW, have you tried simply selecting View->Text Size->Smallest in IE? It really shrinks the fonts to VGA resolutions.

The biggest problems with PIE is the bloody pixelation of the pictures. Very annoying. If only there was a way to turn it off!

PR, when you use "One Column" or "Default" in VIEW==>LAYOUT, PIE resized images which are too large for the screen. I haven't noticed too much pixelation, but this might be what you are seeing. If you set the layout to "Desktop" the images are displayed full size, but you may have to do a lot of side-scrolling.

Gromitron, I also believe PIE is VGA aware and the brute force hack doesn't work. Internally, PIE is already displaying everything in VGA resolution. However, because of WM2003SE's hi res implementation, the menus, toolbars, scrollbars, etc. display at QVGA size. This is to make them easier to use. If you don't want to use SE_VGA, you can gain a little more screen space with Tweaks2k2 by shrinking the width of the scroll bars.

The pictures are quad or at least double pixeled above their normal size which is why they all look bloody awful. The only image I have found that doesn't suffer this problem is the Avantgo logo on the Avantgo channel list.

Whose evers idea this was should be beaten with a stick, they give you double the screen space then double the picture sizes.
