Default GPS Car holder for your hx4700, almost a portable stand for the hx4700!

    Saw this over at PPCthoughts:

Pretty dang cool if you use GPS and need to have access to your hx4700 while on the road.

Now what I really is to get a little portable/foldable stand for the hx4700 so I can watch movies in portrait or landscape mode, much easier to place it on a table (or airplane table tray) and watch a movie rather than holding it.

This device is close to a good idea. The flexible tubing looks interesting, the rotation looks cool. Way too bulky for portability and way too expensive.

I guess I might just have to make one myself. How many people would be interested?

Actually, that's not flexible tubing. It's a somewhat flexible rod with a sleeve that looks like tubing over it.

And I've never seen it mounted like that before because I don't have any flat horizontal surfaces in my car that a suction cup will stick to.

I usually use it to mount to the windshield. I got it at Semsons - the actual iPAQ holder is a bit different but the suction cup mount is exactly the same...

I want a stand to watch movies on the plane without having to hold it.

    Default Hi seaflippper...

    Hi !

I remember in one of your post you mention the fact you might think about a PIVOT solution for your HX, or simply a smart and confortable way to perceive the screen and access keyboard.

I posted something recently, do you still think about a solution ? Me I work on it, if you had any Idea to share feel free.

thanks in advance for your time,

    polisson

Yeah, something that you could pivot from landscape to portrait, but that would be holding the iPaq solid. I guess really landscape mode only wouldn't be too bad, something like this:

something similar to that would be cool.

I almost think someone could make a universal one...

    Default Hi !

Thanks for your kind reply Seaflipper... but watch my last recent post about this idea.... I think I am going fast to the point... it can be safe for the unit, very efficient, not too heavy and beautifull because smart in intention and result.

watch it and tell me what do you think about ..

    Bye

    Hi there folks!

    First post...I though I'd post a review...Kind of...

In my search for a car kit to install my new 4705 in my Volvo C70 Coupe I saw this post. I looked at ProClipUSA and did not see anything for the 4705. I went to Brodit (Sweden) and saw no pricing. I took the easy route...I called Seidio, asked some questions, and ordered the G2500. Upon reciept of the unit, I thought I was shipped the wrong one. My 4705 would not fit. I tried and tried (carefully!) until I finally got it to seat and connect. Hmmm..."I must have got a bum unit." I said to myself. I used it for a few days; however I had to take the unit off of the mount in order to wrangle the iPAQ into the dock. Enough was enough! I called Seidio Customer Support to see what could be done. I was told, very nicely by the way, that they were aware of this and that I should be able to get used to it after doing so for a while. The rep even gave me an additional 10 days to decide if I wanted to return it. Their standard return period is 14 days, I have 24. I just sent my RMA request. Nothing against the company, just the product. Not being happy, I decided to dust off my huntin' boots and sent an email to Brodit. They replied very quickly to my questions and pointed me to, who else but... ProClipUSA . They told me that ProClip has the units displayed at Brodit and could order them right away. Upon contacting ProClip, the kind gentleman promised emphatically that I would not have the same issue with their product that I did with the Seidio unit. I ordered. I received. I am happy! I now have a Swedish hardwired dock with speaker, TX, RX, and 5VDC nicely mounted on the dash of my Volvo C70 Coupe.

The units from Seidio and ProClip are the only for the 4700 series I have found.

I have a RAM mount that I have used on my boat for years and I have been very very happy with it. Very heavy duty and has worked well even in rough seas. I used it with my Ipaq 3650. I now have a 4700 and have already contacted them to see if the mount is comng. They said that they are reviewing it now.

So if anyone else is interested in a RAM mount let them know. The more we tell them we want this the better chance they will make it.
