    Default Call Waiting/Toggle Issue

is anyone else having problems taking/switching between calls when you already have one in progress?

I unlocked my 6315 and am using it with Cingular and I can't seem to answer another incoming call when the first one is ongoing. The 6315 doesn't freeze, but when the dialogue box pops up and I tap on "Answer" it won't switch over.

Is it just me? or are others having an issue?

    Thanks,

    Rob

No problems here. I'm on t-mobile, phone locked.

Both call waiting and three-way calling work just fine for me.

After 4 weekf of having the device, it just started doing this with me, as well, exactly as you describe. Really strange. I also should say, I just arrived in New York from London, where I did 2 weeks of testing the unit there, and it was fine. I first thought that maybe it is something in the NY system, also, because the cell system here has been really bad since Kerry, Bush, and the UN have all been here at the same time, and also because, I backed up the 6315, hard reset it, to see if it was an offending application, and even at the hard reset default state, it still did that!!

So, not sure yet what this is. I have a small feeling it is something within the radio that breaks down after a certain point, on some devices, and we may have to return it

Bad news. I tried my P900, and the call waiting is working fine. It is for sure, a new "common" hardware problem of the 6315, Also, mine is still locked, as this is the second unit I've had, and now this, so it has nothing to do with an unlocking issue. Also, the phone poriton is sort of separate from the PDA portion, so unfortunately, I cannot see a software fix.. Too bad. I will have to get a third unit.

    Default Please let me know

    Jeff,

Please keep me posted on your replacement. Are you the same Jeff from Howard Forums?

Ironically, since I posted, I have been able to switch calls exactly once. Then it quit working again.

I am not entirely sure it is a function of the PDA, and may have more to do with the networks it is on, or more likely, T-Mobile specific firmware.

I wish I would have tested it more on T-Mobile before I dropped them for Cingular. I really liked T-Mo, but they sucked where I lived and I had to have better coverage inside my house.

Overall, I give this 6315 about a 70. I am really disappointed with it in some major areas (bluetooth headset, etc.) and I am kicking myself for doing this now. I am probably going to have to go back to a pure PDA and a pure phone. I didn't take my own advice...

Damn you SonyEricsson for not making the P910 Quad-Band!

    Yep, same Jeff from HoFo.

So far, I am pretty happy with the 6315, except for this new problem . I am WiFi-ing this post now. Overall, this phone performs better than the first month the P800 debuted. just needs to get over the growing pains, and I am looking forward to the XDA 3. I think the call waiit issue is a 6315 issue , since testing back and forth with my P900 at the same time, and that was fine. I will be in some overseas GSMnets this week, Ill try there.

    Jeff,

Cool, thanks. What provider are you using here in the states? T-Mobile? I thought you said yours was still locked, if I am not mistaken, so that must be the case.

If you are having problems with it on T-Mobile, that does give me a little comfort, at least knowing it is not provider-specific.

I seem a firmware update looming. Question is when?? T-Mobile will surely drag their heels on that, and I would bet a generic release from HP wouldn't work either (if ever released) but I would like to loose the T-MO branding...

By chance, are you using your 6315 with a GPS? If so, which one?

    Thanks,

    Rob

Using the TomTom bluetooth unit, with the TomTom USA and Europe maps, as well as Mapopolis maps. They both work well, and you gotta remember to use bluetooth serial COM7. See www.pocketgpsworld.com forums. BIG help.
