Default Reading mail and the 'joy' pad

The pad on my 5550 is driving me nuts.

Nice and responsive but I use it for reading a daily mail digest on my ipaq.

I seem to incapable of reading the whole of the digest without jumping to the next mail by accidentally pressing left or right. Then when I go back to the mail I have to scroll down again.

Is there anyway to disable left and right? Or alternative solutions. Stylus use isn't really a solution.

I agree. I was trying to read a detaiedl email about our new CEO yesterday, and as I scrolled down using the button, it kept jumping to the next email. Really annoying.
Take the shot. Go for it ......

I have the same problem, with mail and with other applications. It is very frustrating.
