AArrrggggh - Wrong PPC 2003 Version
I get all excited that my PPC 2003 upgrade finally got here. I upgraded to the latest ROM. The package says H54xx. The Packing slip says H54xx PPC2003 Upgrade.
I do a backup. Of course several of my programs are deleted, such as Calligrapher, and eWallet as part of the process.
I slip in the CD and try the upgrade, but notice that the screen says this is for a 3900 iPAQ. I think, well it must work, but it doesn't. I call HP and after waiting for 25 minutes the Tech says that they must have packed the wrong CD. I ask if there is a website that I can just download the file from and he says no. I ask if he can send me the correct CD. He says no.
He says that customer service will need to contact me in SEVERAL days to correct the problem.
I sat around at work for an extra 2 hours getting all the stuff right on my iPAQ and then this. Arrgggggggghhhhh!
If someone knows where I can get the correct file for the 5450 I would greatly appreciate it.

Same problems here and it is too late to call them now. I will call them in the morning and demand a proper disc and if they want the old one back they can send a call tag. The packing says 54XX series but the CD says 3900 series.
Just lovely, waited all of this time and then they can't even ship the right CD.

I had the same problem when I received mine this last Monday. Call them ASAP so you can "get back in line"! I got passed between two ladies at HP, one in Service, the other in Sales. The lady in Service muttered something to herself like, "This has been happening to other people" when I explained the situation.
Anyway, she passed me to Sales and the lady there listened to my problem, then put me on hold while she conferred with the lady in Service. When she came back on, she said the Service lady would issue a credit for the old order and enter a new order. Once she had done that she would call me back. She verified my phone number. (Total time of the call was about 15-20 minutes.)
After waiting a couple of hours for a call back, nothing. So I called HP. They had issued a credit but no new order. Yes, they were happy to place a new order for me, but they're out of the 54xx CD, will be Sept. 15!
My advice: Do NOT wait to hear back from them about your order, be proactive!

If one of you that received the 39xx Series Update would like to send it my way for a 3955 instead of dealing with HP over it I would sure like to take it off your hands.
Same price you paid HP for, and I'll throw in an extra buck or two for shipping to me...
I know, a shameless exploiting of the situation, but hey... maybe you don't feel like dealing with HP right now

I own a 3955, and was sent the 5400 upgrade.
If anyone wants to swap discs, send an email to peakejef@yahoo.com with your street address, I will reply with my home address.

Own a 5455. Recieved my 2003 upgrade disc on 8/25/03, upgraded yesterday (8/27/03). Apparently got the right disc, as everything went fine. I'm only posting to lend a small amount of moral support by saying, after waiting all this time, THEN getting the wrong disc......that sucks!!!! HP needs to fix this for you guys ASAP!

I have found a trading partner for my 5400 cd.
If you still want to trade, look in the 3900 forum, there are a few people who got the 5400 CD by mistake.iPaq 4155 + Motorola MxP200 Smartphone

I just received a telephone call from HP. It looks like they are pro-actively calling all the people who received their update CDs and making sure they got the right one. Fortunately I did receive the right one.
