Default Antenna Icon On Task Bar (on 5555) to right of Connectivity Icon

On my iPAQ 5555, when I receive a new WiFi station, an Antenna Icon sometimes apprears to the left of the Connectivity Icon (to the right of the Start Icon). How do I get this to reappear at a later time? It seems to be a very infrequent, one time event for a new signal and is very inconsistant. Does anyone know what it means and what triggers it's appearance and will share this secret information?

Okay, when you tap the antenna icon, it will bring up a dialog box asking you if it connects to The Internet or Work and will detail the name of the AP. It's fairly simple.

To access those choices again for a registered AP, while Wi-Fi is enabled on your ipaq, go into Settings>Connections>Connections>Advanced>Network Card. That will bring up a list of the available access points registered to WM2003. Tap once to bring up the settings page for one of them, or tap-and-hold to bring up a context menu which features the Connect button and Settings. The former item will be useful if your ipaq doesn't notice any APs lying around, or if it doesn't automatically connect.

    Best regards,
    Jordan

    Hi Jordan,
    Thanks for the helpful reply.
What causes the Antenna Icon to apear? It is very inconsistant. It seems to apear only the first time I connect to a new SSID.
    Thanks.

David, that's an accurate shot at what the antenna icon does. It's just there to notify you that WM2003 has just seen a new AP that it hasn't encountered before, or for which there is no available configuration data. It will only show up if the AP is new, or if you have deleted the config data for that AP.

    Best regards,
    Jordan
