Default pocket excel file wont open on desktop excel

i moved a spreadsheet to my ipaq 5455.
few weeks go by of updating the data on my ipaq
now i tried to move the file back to my pc and open it in desktop excel and Excel reports the file as fatally corrupted. i have Office XP SP2 on Windows XP.

Anyone know why this happened or how to repair it or how to avoid this problem?

    thanks

How did you move it from the PPC to your PC? Did you use activesync? The file must be converted by ActiveSync.

well the file sits in "my documents" on the ppc so it is always also in the "\Pocket_PC My Documents" folder on my desktop. so i assume that the answer is "yes", i am using activesync. otherwise please tell me what i should do.

    thanks

Well I would try to open the file on your 5455, first to see if you can. If it opens, then save it to a CF card or to another location just to have a backup if you can. If this file also is corupt, it could be hard to tell where or even what cause it.

Then try redocking your 5455. Perhaps this will give you a good copy on your PC.

Possible this is damaging, then i consult try - Excel repair, know how will display a dialog box with the question whether this worksheet should actually be scanned, allows you to view the entire information in a convenient form and to make sure that the tool reproduced it correctly, also you can switch to Microsoft Excel and do everything necessary with the worksheet that contains all information that the tool was able to recover from the corrupted file: cell values, their sizes, formulas, font formatting, etc.

    Hi,

I think you can try a popular Excel file recovery tool called Advanced Excel Repair to repair your Excel file. It is a powerful tool to repair corrupt or damaged Excel files.

Detailed information about Advanced Excel Repair can be found at http://www.datanumen.com/aer/

And you can also download a free demo version at http://www.datanumen.com/aer/aer.exe
