Error code "USB device not recognized"?

    Default Error code "USB device not recognized"?

    I have a new hot sync/charger cable for my compaq 3630 . When I plug it to my Pc I get the error code "USB device not recognized". What could be wrong?

    Did you already have activesync installed before plugging the new cable into the usb port?

    If activesync is not installed first, the computer thinks you are trying to install a new usb device and asks for a driver.

    You may need to use device manager to remove any references to new usb devices, then install activesync, then plug the cable in.
