My Dilemma!

I found this guy whos selling 3835 IPAQ's on ebay for around $500 including shipping. I emailed him and it turns out they are the "G1" Ipaqs.

Now im thinkin I can buy the G1 3835 from this guy, purchase the BB warranty, and find some way to exchange it for a G2.

NOW...

what are some good excuses I can use? Are there any "intentional" but not too obvious ways I can *damage* it or make it "replacable"???????

How are you going to get a BB plan when you don't have anything that will show proof of purchase???

Will BB give you a warranty under those conditions.

Why don't you just pay the extra $60 and get the latest model???

At BB, they're $599. I'd say that the price difference justifies it. It's not worth buying an older one from some guy on the net, and then breaking it.

Or, you could just go in with a ski-mask and a shotgun, and steal a new one - seems just as good to me...

well these are my options:

I can buy a G1 off the net for $500.

or

I can get a G2 from BB for $530 (including tax).


but its $30! that like a good CF card or Cf expansion sleeve right there!!!


..and yes, BB will give me a warranty. The lady said I dont even need my reciept.

I have a G1 iPAQ, and I've had no "mysterious" problems.

so for the sake of $30 you would risk buying something off Ebay that is second hand, and you may well have no issues, than go into your local BB get a BRAND NEW 3835 get your protection plan for $60.

I think you are being a little short sighted...

However if that is your choice good luck......

I'd spend more 30 bucks and go for the G2. But it's your money, so you should decide by yourself...

Anyways, I think I will just get the one from BB for $530. It too much of a pain to to go through all that trouble to save $30.


so when I do get it, what is the first thing I should do? Install the PPC upgrade from compaq> Update the rom?
