iPAQ 3850 battery removal
Does anyone know how to take the battery out.
I can get the back cover off, but I don't know how to remove the batter cable from the main board. I don't want to damage anything.
Thanks

Actually the 3850 is a lot more simple to take apart then the 3600's.
BEFORE YOU DO THIS BACKUP YOUR IPAQ. Or it will revert to factory settings due to loss of battery. ALSO use your Contacts and Appointment backup to store these in ROM before you take out the battery. To get your contacts and such back after you have finished your restore, simply go back to your save contacts and appointments and check the boxes and soft reset in order to obtain your "Stuff" back from ROM.
Just take out the four "Torx's" or Torks
screws believe its a #6 but not positive right off the top of my head.
Anyhow. after the screws are out. Run your fingernail along the sides of the seam. (Two halves of the Ipaq) There is (On each side) two little snap holders that hold the halves together. Usually once one side unsnaps the other follows.
Keep your Ipaq with the screen pointing downward. The battery is double back taped to the back of the Ipaq or the half with the ser# label.
Be careful as there is the wires running from the battery to the main board of the Ipaq. (Screen Side) Trace the end of the battery cable to the main board to a little white plastic part. This just snaps onto the board.
You can pull, (Carefully) the battery from the back of the plate as it is held on with double back tape. Unlike Glued in like the 3600's.
Hope this helps.
Are you upgrading to a larger capacity battery? If so let us know if things work well on install., and also post back the power drain difference you may note.
Thanks.
