    Question SD Wireless LAN card???

I have a CF Symbol card and a SS2 and love it. Execpt it doesn't protect the screen walking around work so I am thinking of investing in another sleve to protect my investment.

My question is could the SD slot house a wireless LAN card, an do you think these will be made in the future?

    Unhappy Not in the 3800s

The 3800 series IPAQs do not support SDIO.

SDIO is required to use wireless lan (or Bluetooth)

    Common Sense is not Common.

WLAN is only CF or PC-Card. There's no SD WLAN card...yet.

Even when the cards become available they will not work in the IPAQ 38xx SD slot because it is not wired to support SDIO.

I'm afraid Gen-M is right. The IPaq 38XX series do not support SDIO at all. This pretty much screws any possibility of being able to use future SDIO technology such as BlueTooth and 802.11b SD cards.

When in doubt, just remeber this one thing. The SD slot on the 38XX series is Nothing More Then A MMC Slot That Can Also Take SD Cards. It does not support high SD transfer speeds, and it does not support SDIO. Makes you wonder why Compaq even bothered calling it an SD slot as all... Secure Multimedia Card slot sounds more realistic.

You're in the IPaq 38XX camp now... Get used to dissapointment.

I will call it a Wide MMC slot, since there's nothing secure about it.
