Default Wireless Pack for GSM/GPRS Networks

Anyone seen this on Compaq site, I was wondering if there where any more details about it. Looks very impressive. Any input would be great.

    Thanks

Let me verify something. Can this thing be used as a cell phone? Also, if so, does anybody have any information on providers. The more that I look at it, I would be happy to get rid of my cell phone... :-D

It is intended to be used as a cell phone. it will work on any GSM/GPRS network all you have to do is obtain a SIM card for the provider of your choice and put it in the sleeve.

note the phone will be used with the screen of the iPAQ faceing out away from your face so the micrphone and speaker on the iPAQ have nothing to do with the phone use

I am wondering if someone has a definate price on this I've read that it will retail for around $299 if this is true I'm selling my T68 and am going with this option.

Priccijr, i think a more accurate price is $400, i think i've read this on a few sites. Also, i'm pretty sure, the only service you will be able to use this with right now are voice stream and cingular. They are the only ones that offer GPRS services. Anyone disagree?

    Priccijr,

You didn't just say Sprint, did you?! You are teasing me, right? That would great! I have Sprint, and the service works decent around where I am. Wow, that would be awesome! If it is $400, then I am saying hell no. But, if it is $350, $300, or below, I may get this.

Well, I use a screen protector anyways, so I wouldn't mind which way it is. Yay, I am all physced up about this!

I thought sprint was rolling out that new service that verizon is, isn't that that different. I thought its baisically the same structure, just faster speeds, not real sure, cell phone stuff isn't my area of expertise.

right it's the same just faster speeds. it's supposed to be 144kbps but I saw that real speeds of 70kbps is more likely. still not bad for a wireless connection better than 19.2 or 28.8 I think is called CDMA2000 or maybe that's something else that other post calls it 1XRTT something.

Yea but it says this summer... that is funny though, Cingular will have it nationwide by 2004. They don't even have nationwide coverage yet on regular cell phone service!
