So my Dual PC-card expansion pack arrived to day from England (took 3 days) and I'm trying to get the wireless lan card to work with it since it was the main reason for getting it.
I'm using a DWL-650 D-Link Air card. Drivers installed fine on my win98 box, but the IPAQ gives me a:
"Unrecognized Card --
Enter the name of the device driver for this card. For more information see that card manufacturer's documentation."
So basically it's useless right now. Any ideas?
Muchos gracias.

According to this site:
http://www.cewindows.net/peripherals...irelesslan.htm
It works with Compaq WL100 Driver. Just enter WL100NDS.dll as the card type.
I personally haven't tried this, but the site is pretty reliable. I own this card, but not the PC Card sleeve. I would be interested to know how it works. If you could update the site here and let me know, it would be appreciated.

Don't do that yet! Let's backup a step. Before you can use the WL100 driver, you'll need to install it on your iPAQ. Download it from Compaq:
http://www.compaq.com/support/files/...load/9531.html
Then you can enter WL100NDS.dll when the unrecognized card message appears.
Good luck,
Mike

Worked like a charm

I went to Deja and got this:
The Compaq WL100 drivers should work.
* Install the Compaq WL100 drivers from
http://www5.compaq.com/support/files...n/WL100CE.html
* Insert the WLAN card (d-link DWL-650, Buffalo Wireless LAN or Linksys
WPS11, they all have the same chipset) in the PCMCIA slot
* When dialog box comes up with "Unrecognized card" type "WL100NDS.dll" in
the edit box and press OK. This tells the iPaq to use this DLL when the WLAN
card is inserted.
* configure the card with WL100STA.EXE (found in Program Files\Compaq WL100
Wireless LAN directory)
* you may want to put a link to WL100STA.EXE in the Windows\StartUp
directory, when you insert the card a small icon in the status bar will show
you the connect state. Double click on it brings up the settings dialog.

802.11 pc card
Will these instructions work with the Linksys 802.11 PC card? Can that card be used in the single PC Card sleeve?

Yes, as I have used this configuration with the LinkSys WPC11 card.
However, I have been having trouble with sync'ing after installing the drivers - for some reason it forces my iPaq to turn itself off while in the cradle...
Otherwise, it's all good.
