    As you all know I don't have an iPAQ and am EXTREMLEY bored around here...

    I just looked at my mini screwdriver toolkit and my USB docking station... connection?

    well, I made my OWN usb cable from the usb cradle. It also provides power support on-the-go. I will start it from the top right now...

    Very interesting. The screws on the docking station ARE THE SAME screws on the iPAQ! Just black, look cool. I am going switch the screws with my iPAQ, it'll make my iPAQ look pimpin

    the black part is off...
    <img src=http://www.shehady.com/temp/docking/MVC-203X.JPG>
    that cover is now off...
    <img src=http://www.shehady.com/temp/docking/MVC-204X.JPG>
    those little holders...
    <img src=http://www.shehady.com/temp/docking/MVC-205X.JPG>
    that little switch that releases holders...
    <img src=http://www.shehady.com/temp/docking/MVC-208X.JPG>
    can be taken off...
    <img src=http://www.shehady.com/temp/docking/MVC-209X.JPG>

    ripped it all apart...

    My homemade travel USB cable w/power support!!!
    <img src=http://www.shehady.com/temp/docking/MVC-207X.JPG>
    that little "power" thing does NOT give the ipaq power. It is just a holder. Everything goes through the little thing that connects to the ipaq.
    <img src=http://www.shehady.com/temp/docking/MVC-212X.JPG>
    ok, its ALL stripped...
    <img src=http://www.shehady.com/temp/docking/MVC-210X.JPG>
    now all back together, except for that 1 spring.
    <img src=http://www.shehady.com/temp/docking/MVC-213X.JPG>
    before dock with sleeve...
    <img src=http://www.shehady.com/temp/docking/MVC-214X.JPG>
    docking with sleeve...
    <img src=http://www.shehady.com/temp/docking/MVC-215X.JPG>
    after docking with sleeve...
    <img src=http://www.shehady.com/temp/docking/MVC-216X.JPG>
    i will leave that spring out, don't want to keep hitting that damn button
    <img src=http://www.shehady.com/temp/docking/MVC-217X.JPG>
    doesn't that case look empty to you just has my CF sleeve and my rotring executive.
    <img src=http://www.shehady.com/temp/docking/MVC-218X.JPG>

    I guess I did this cause I'm bored

    learned 3 things,
    the spring doesn't have to stay in, I can have my own USB cable w/power support, and the docking station uses the same screws as the iPAQ does!

    Questions/comments/thoughts welcome.

    Thumbs up

    Hey, you've gotta love bandwidth intensive threads! I'm glad I'm on a T3. I didn't realize that the power went through the connector at the bottom, but now I do. What are you going to take apart next? I get the feeling you're going to be without your iPaq for a little while...

    How about that j2c, I'm at 298 and you're at 198 posts (as of this writing). As for taking stuff apart, how about taking a break from all that? Man, I'm tired.

    Cool

    How about your PC card sleeve. I'd like to see the inside of that sucker.

    Didn't he say that was his CF sleeve up top? In either case, I always like seeing the innards of stuff.
