How do you like the new Discussion Board?

How do you like the new Discussion Board? Now it makes a lot of sense to register. You can select the Forums you want to subscribe to, set your own time zone, and much more.

And best of all, it shouldn't go down like UBB!

So you finally decided to require registration to post? I guess it was too hard to preserve anonimity... Well, having everybody register should make things better, we'll see.

I haven't tried it. I'm going by the "forum rules" at the bottom of the topics table.

Forum Rules:
Who Can Read The Forum? Any registered user or guest.
Who Can Post New Topics? Any registered user.
Who Can Post Replies? Any registered user.
Changes: Messages can be edited by their author. 
Messages can be deleted by their author.
Posts: HTML code is ON. Smilies are ON. vB code is ON.
IMG code is ON.

That aside. It looks very complete. It's going to take a while to lear all the new features.

I love the new board...the one thing I found out instantly was that I am one of the top 10 posters on the board (no where near Steve's 2000+ posts but still relatively high...that's good and bad...good for BrightHand but bad in the sense that it means I spend too much time in this community. So I am going to log off after responding to about 50 more posts and spend some quality R & R with my wife and 3 cats. These improvements do nothing to curb this addictive behavior I am exhibiting...it's like handing out candy to a guy with severe dental problems. Keep up the great work Steve...looking forward to seeing the writeup on the board's features and also what next for the site.

P.S. I note that we can now even have our own personal Avatar...sweet!...look for the graphics minded amongst us to create some interesting personal Avatars. Me I would settle for perhaps a purple Barney dinosaur (just kidding).

The page extends the width of my screen. It did not do this before. I have to scroll right to see all the message.
Is there a setting to change this annoying problem?

Great job on getting the bboards back up so fast. I didn't expect you guy to be back up til Monday.
You might consider creating an article on all the new features you've added.

It appers this topic view width is different than some of the other topics which do not extend beyond the screen width like this topic. How strange.
