Ok, I posted this before and got a good responce and went to buy a 1 gig microdrive that they said was in stock, needless to say 2 weeks later I still don't have it. So someone has done this reasearch where is the best price on these things currently? Or a good price on CF.

I bid on mine at uBid about 3 weeks ago and got it for $429. I would think now that they are a bit easier to get, you should be able to bid and retrieve it for $400-$429.
Checkout www.ubid.com and search for microdrive. They have a dutch auction up there right now for 4 of them that come with the camermate reader. Mine was just the raw drive with pcmcia adapter. They seem to put up new ones each time the current auction closes.

If you have extra money, I think you should get the bigger one, like 1GB.
because currently, there are 2 generations of microdrive. the 2nd generation, according to IBm, is improved on the battery power usuage. it uses less power than the first generation (170/340MB). I'm not really sure how significant it is, but better go for the new generation. besides, 1GB seems a little cheaper than the 340mb MD compared with MB size/price.

And if I didn't have the Extra Money ?
Should i just buy the 324 , or should i abandon the Microdrive Solution and just go and get a large CF flash card instead ?
