cf compact flash converter sd secure digital???
Does any one know of a product that would allow the use of a SD (secure digital) card in a CF (compact flash) slot (i.e. an iPAQ expansion pack sleeve)?
I have extra SD cards and no CF cards, so I was looking for a way to utilize the extra port to attach extra storage.
I am looking for a SD to CF converter.
Plus my digital camera uses SD cards so I do not want or need CF cards.
Thanks
jdm
P.S. Would there be any known drawbacks to doing this?"Hell is where you make it."

A drawback is that the SD card doesn't go all the way into the CF card - it sticks out a little.Covert of www.cghm.8k.com

Panasonic make one, i forget the part number now- something like cf__sd__. Its on their web site somewhere, i asked in the panasonic shop in Reading, UK and they wanted ?40 ($60) for it, a bit steep but the SD fits all the way inside and should be totally compatable (Panasonic being one of the supporters/designers of the SD format).
Holding off getting one untill I really need it (Holiday) because of the price!

I don't believe the Panasonic one is available in the states yet - but I think on theirs the SD card fits all the way into the CF card.

What about the Imation adaptors?
I've got the Imation card reader, that was cheap after rebate at CompUSA. It came with all these converters for SD, MMC, Memory Stick...So that they can fit into the CF slot in the card reader.
Couldn't a person use these converters in a PDA too?
This could be a cheap solution while giving you a USB card reader.
Imation Model No.: IMN-USB-FG1Gizmo is a PDA and Tablet PC developer.

I just tried it. It says specifically on the package that the CFII cards won't work with any device other than the FlashGO! USB drive itself. I tried it with an SD card just now. The card works in the SD slot of the 2210 but not the the CFII slot of the 2210. A normal CF card does though.
