iPaq Backup upgrade question, Do I need to upgrade?

Hi All,

I've been using my hp2210 for over two weeks now, and it runs very well, very stable. In my experience it's even stable than my Sony SJ30. Well, maybe it's because I had so many hacks and DAs installed on the Palm.

Anyway, I've been using iPaq Backup to backup everything (except the File Store) to my SD card, and it runs great. But in this forum there were a lot talks about the upgrading of iPaq Backup. As far as I know this upgrade just solves the scheduled backup problem, while I never use scheduled backup, and I never like my PDA to do backup on its own. I always do this manually, just like I did on my Palm.

So do I need to upgrade? I've downloaded the latest upgrade version 2.1.2.2 from SpriteSoftware, but just wondering if I need to upgrade while nothing goes wrong with the program.

Anyone out there faces the same problem as I do? Do you think I'd better upgrade if I will never use the scheduled backup?

I havn't been following the ipaq backup stuff, but i believe they released a patch to either fix the scheduling since it was cuasing problems or disabled it entirely until they fix the problem.

The main feature of the upgrade is to allow backups to a computer... which is less useful for someone that can put it on a memory card and copy from there to a hard drive.
