Default 1940 - the best PDA I ever owned

I am really in love with this thing... It's small, fast, very sleek, light and bright! Excellent screen and very good audio. BT works like a charm and ... did I mentioned it's small?

    Great job, HP.

I agree. Amazing little device, and quite possibly the first electronic product that came from an American hardware manufacturer that completely stunned me with it's sleekness, compactness, build quality and technologies used.

That's an amazingly good photo - what kind of camera??

And that's a very white display, perfectly showing how non-yellow it can be when viewed dead-on.

Thanks for the good comments about photo

    This is Canon 10D camera - http://web.canon.jp/Imaging/EOS10D/

    With Canon 24-70L lens -

About display. Maybe I just got lucky with this unit. But I just don't understand what some people are complaning about - this is LCD screen. All LCD screens behaive the same exact way - even my two Viewsonic VP171b show the same phenomena.

If anyone wants high quality photos of cradle please request them here.

That is an amazing camera - at least I don't feel so bad about my consumer-level Nikon, now! It only cost me $450.

Those digital SLR's are just stunning.

Default Drooool..... I want that camera

That camera is amazing. I opened the large picture (took 5 seconds to open), and you can even see the spaces between the pixels. What resolution!

Oh yeah, great iPAQ, huh. Wish I have two 256MB SD. I can't afford one (I am 14 after all).

And that cradle looks great. Definately consider one of those, after a memory card.

P.S. Is that vBar I see running. Great program that.

    Default yellow glow

I recently got my 1940 and I must say it doesn't come close to the white screen of ID64 !!!
    Mine is yellow all over....
The strange thing though, is when you look at the iPaq at the same angle as ID64 took the picture, the yellow glow is getting less. So I turned my iPaq 1940 upside down and now the yellow glow is almost gone! One should almost think that these LCD panels are made for the wrong viewing angle...

Too bad because for me it really is unacceptable and really cannot understand that HP has let it pass their quality control.

But apart from that, the 1940 is a really perfect PDA.

Just goes to show that there's some variance in the screens. Mine is pretty close to ID's at that angle (my Nikon 4500 isn't up to the task of the phenomenal image quality of his Canon, but I did post some pics a while back). If it were me, I'd return it and roll the dice to see what I got next. It could wind up being one of those 'silent fixes'... You never know.

Rogatsby, you're the only one who seems to want to make a confrontation out of this. I suggest sock puppets or perhaps a voodoo doll to get it out of your system.
