A Star Trek/Sherlock Holmes/iPhone/iPad Crossover
I thought you might be interested in this story on how Benedict Cumberbatch used his iPhone to audition for a role in the next Star Trek movie:
p.s. I'm not sure how Doctor Who was left out of this.

Re: A Star Trek/Sherlock Holmes/iPhone/iPad Crossover
It seems there's only a small group of Brish actors, and they all show up in every big production made in England, like how David Tennant was in Doctor Who and Harry Potter (along with almost every British actor currently alive). Apparently J.J. Abrams is populating the latest Star Trek movie with Brits.
I'm sure Benedict Cumberbatch will eventually show up on Doctor Who, too.
p.s. Can you tell I love the name Benedict Cumberbatch? Only it needs more. He should be called "Benedict Cumberbatch, Gentleman Adventurer". :-D

Re: A Star Trek/Sherlock Holmes/iPhone/iPad Crossover
There is a group of British and Canadian actors (M & F) that turns up in a lot of HBO and Syfy productions somewhat regularly. Game of Thrones is filled with actors from other large productions (i.e. The Tudors.)
And then there's Sean Bean (the man with the rhyming name that doesn't
) who's in a category all by himself. He is everywhere.
Cumberbatch reminds me of Cabbage Patch.

Lelisa, I wish SB were MORE prevalent. His tenure on GoT was too short (but inevitable) and he has a smallish role on 'Missing.' There was a brief period where he seemed to be about to really break out internationally, but it didn't quite happen. I miss the earlier Sharpes and I started seeing him as far back as 'Clarissa' on PBS.

I found it funny that Benedict Cumberbatch (Gentleman Adventurer) used his iPhone to create a video that J.J. Abrams then watched on his iPad. Maybe I should have said earlier that the next Star Trek is going to be populated with iBrits.

According to Alan Sepinwall, we're in for a treat tonite (Sunday, 05/06).
"Sherlock" finally returns to PBS tonight, and it's terrific. My review Review: Sherlock season 2 debuts on PBS

I recently finished watching Sherlock season1 on Netflix. I'm looking forward to season 2.

Once Upon a Time (ABC, Sundays 8:00 pm) is another new show relying on iPad tools for production (paragraph 4th from bottom of article.)

Re: A Star Trek/Sherlock Holmes/iPhone/iPad Crossover
I nearly missed recording Sherlock last night on my PC. I have Windows XP MCE and it turns out .NET framework 4 causes problems with it. I didn't figure this out until after the 7PM show, but managed to uninstall .NET framework 4 and reschedule recording for the 2 AM rebroadcast.
I think .NET framework 4 was required for some software I recently added or upgraded. So far, I haven't noticed any adverse affects, but I'll need to pay close attention these next few days. Hopefully it's not required for the recent Microsoft Security Essentials, or I might be in the market for new anti-virus software! This Signature Line Intentionally Left Blank
