Default AirPlay on a PC Options?

I keep an older Window XP laptop next to my TV for watching Hulu and such. Lately I've been wondering, is there a way to add support for AirPlay to it, so I could send video from my iPhone and iPad to my TV?

So far, I haven't run across anything that looks like a good solution. Do any of you have any suggestions?

p.s. Buying an Apple TV isn't an option at this point. I'm looking for a DIY project, not a trip to the store.

A quick Google turns up something called AirMedia Player. It requires Microsoft .NET framework 3.5 SP1, Bonjour for Windows, and Quicktime to run. Unfortunately, it seems the original author took it down, but the app is still running around.

This turned out to be a weekend with perfect weather, so instead of spending my time bent over a keyboard installing an AirPlay driver on a laptop I wasted it at a delightful cookout with my friends and many hours spent outdoors on my deck.

    Maybe next weekend.
