Good luck and FWIW I had an experience with rapidly draining battery on my iPhone 4 for the 24 hours after upgrading. The battery dropped very quickly to the 20% warning marker and I allowed it to go down to 13% before finally plugging into a power source. Prior to the upgrade, while using iOS 4.3.5, my battery level would go all day and still be above 70% at nite. Some are suffering with this and others are completely untouched. Nobody seems to be able to say why but the same thing happened with an early iOS 4 upgrade version, fixed subsequently.

Battery levels in iPhone 4 & iPad 1 are still not as good as previously but also not plummeting as a few days ago.

I know a few of you have had issues with rapid battery drain when upgrading to iOS 5. Are you still experiencing the problem? I ask because I still have not upgraded and am hoping that the problems are being sorted out. Also, Ed Hardy just published an article called How to Increase the Battery Life of Apple's iPhone 4S, which discusses the problems people are having with iOS 5 and has some helpful tips on how to ameliorate them.

Thanks, questionfear. Everyday, I almost upgrade, and then do a little more research, and then get scared off again. I'm in the paralysis by analysis stage.

Apparently, Apple has now admitted there are bugs in iOS5 causing the problem. Updates to come in the next week or so.

Chris, if you wait until iOS 5.0.1 you'll likely avoid all of the persnickety things that have been discussed over the last few weeks. That said, I don't have any complaints other than the battery thing, which is better than at first but not as good as with iOS4.3.5. I have taken all of the recommended steps vis-à-vis turning off settings and modifying same.

Also, I have a problem with the Calendar only on my iPad1. I prefer that my Calendar open to the Monthly view. Since the upgrade, every time that I open the Calendar after the iPad has been sleeping, the current Monthly view is empty of all info. I must leave that view (go to any other view or Month) and when I return events appear as they should. I don't think I reported this quirk, now that I think about it, but it's annoying. Guess I'll report it now.

Neither. Calendar is all local. I wonder if it has to do with the fact that on iPad appointments are visible as text entries whereas on iPhone only dots are visible to indicate something scheduled on a day. Whatever, it worked just fine on iOS 4.3.5 and previous versions. This one, not happenin'.

MobileMe only locates my various devices when asked.
