Re: I finally did it!!
Sorry for the confusion r0k. I can't seem to type and think at the same time.
It is not 1-way push. Example:
I made Calender change on MoMe the other day while sitting at my desk. In less than a minute it showed up on my iPhone and my iMac.
While out getting a Video with the kids at Movie Gallery, I put in my Calender when the movie was due back. We can never remember that. By the time I got back home it was in MoMe and on my iMac.
This morning I got an email from a friend that started a new business. His new Contact info was attached to the bottom of the email. I put his new Contact info into AddresBook on my iMac. BTW Mac Mail makes this way too easy also. Simply click the address or number and select ADD or Create New Contact, and all of the info is put directly into AddressBook. No entering Data is just shows up. Of course you know this but I had to go off on a Tangent. Back on Topic. After I put the info into ABook on my iMac, In just a few minutes the new Contact showed up in MomE and my iPhone.
Right now it is working the way it is suppose to.

Re: I finally did it!!
BB supports wireless sync for enterprise customers. I will end up using some 3rd party solution to get wireless sync. I'm looking at goosync right now then there will be a 3rd party app on my mac to get the google and mobile me calendars and contacts in sync. It's a little more clunky but it is wireless and it is "2 way". My ebay auctions end tomorrow and once I've mailed off those 2 phones I'll turn my attention to more tinkering with my 8830. There are ways to hack OS 4.5 onto my phone behind Verizon's back and I'm thinking of doing that. At the same time I'll look into the various 3rd party wireless sync options.

Re: I finally did it!!
- I edit text. Not being able to simply move sentences or delete them quickly is annoying. I couldn't type a memo because I would make a typo and it would auto-correct to the wrong word, and I couldn't double-tap-to-select like I do in PocketCM and delete it or change the character. It's the little things I can't stand.
- I hate the keyboard. It only has QWERTY on the first part. I have to constantly switch over for punctuation, etc. and I was always hitting the wrong key, causing the annoyingly aggressive text 'correct' feature to kick in and replace it with the wrong word, where I'd have to go back, type it in correctly (which it would replace with something entirely different) and I would have to correct it character by character. My handwriting recognition, which I hardly ever use, is much faster than that. I would much rather have my AutoText or whatever you call it suggest words, not overwrite what I type.

Re: I finally did it!!
W.R.T. cut and paste, for me it was not a "dealbreaker" so much as a frustration. It's minor, and I don't think I've used it more than twice when playing with my new Epix, but when you need it and it's not there it is frustrating. Honestly I only got mad about not having it when the backspace key would go nuts and start wiping out text far beyond what i'd pressed.
I think that many of the complaints about little iphone features are really just complaints from people that demand more from their phone (for various reasons) than others...so there's the things the phone can do great, and there's the things the phone can't do, just out of reach of the "power users", and that gets frustrating after a while.

Re: I finally did it!!
That's me. I like to be able to move text in SMSes and stuff. I use copy/paste constantly to move and fix shortcuts, move files, edit stuff, etc. People ask me for GH and Rockband setlists all the time, so I can just go into my notes app, copy the appropriate list, and text it to them with copy/paste. It also makes it easier to replace words.
Then there's the cripped BT and GPS, and iTunes, etc. But I am about as far from the target market as I am from Beijing.

Re: I finally did it!!
just to add that this is all done wirelessly if one has wifi at home or is at a hotspot. In our case we have 3 people constantly making additions and deletions to the iCal and Addressbook, mostly Addressbook updates like new emails and phone numbers. Stupid computer even added my son's iChat list!
does anyone know how to stop iChat's from going over, I assume it is a setting but I don't iChat?
Hey Brickman65 how do you set up the Mac Mail click and add new contact thingy? Everytime I do that it adds, but grabs the info from whomever sent the email too. For instance, i was invited to a house party/retreat from MG at MP's home, so I do the click/new/add thing to put MP in my address book, but no stupid computer adds MG's and MP's info into one new address card? BTW, this system also works in Mac Mail to add a new iCal event.
Again, these little sync and integration functionalities is what made the switch to total mac PIMs worth it even without todo! woo hoo
See above re wifi with the iPod Touch and iPhone!
w/r to the keyboard, you do know that you can click the little "x" to reject the auto correct, eh? I admit that part interrupts the flow of the typing, and negates what I said earlier about ignoring typing to the end of a thought or sentence.
It just hit me QF, probably the difference for me is that If I have my laptop with me, I won't use the iPhone (or any smartphone for that matter) to do business or emails, but check emails and minor surfing like stocks and BH sure, I will do that, but If I wanted to do one of my robust replies on BH, no way iPhone back in pocket and whip out the MBP. So that is probably why cut and paste was never used much by me on the TX or missed on the iPhone.iPhone 4, iPhone 3G, Plantronics 320, Mac OS 10.6.3 on a 15" MacBook Pro, Airport LAN & WiFi, att.net, PDA path: Palm i705 (2004 - son)=> Palm Tungsten TX (4/06 - sold) => Nokia 6682 (7/06 - 7/08) => iPhone 3G (7/08 - 7/10 now used by son) => iPhone 4 (7/10 - current w/ work SIM) & Nokia (?)(7/10 - current w/ home SIM)

Re: I finally did it!!
I saw how to cancel it, but the little 'x' was too small for me to click. I either missed and it would replace the word, or I would accidentally click the word it was suggesting and it would replace the word. I only managed to hit the 'x' twice in about a paragraph's worth. And it did all sorts of weird corrections, like replacing 'why' with 'who' or 'hey'. It turned "Why does this not surprise me?" into "Who does that hot supper may".

Re: I finally did it!!
I am not sure that I had to "click" on any thing in Mac Mail. I just go to the persons signature at the bottom of the email, and if I can highlight it with the little arrow box (that is the only way I know how to explain it) then I choose "New Contact" or "Add to Existing Contact".
Is it doubling the contact info if you click the persons name at the top of the email in the "Sent From" box?
Does that help any?
Now I do have "Use Smart Mailboxes" checked under Mail Preferences.

Re: I finally did it!!
Its good to read your progress brickman. I have a 755p for 18 months and I honestly do not have too many complaints. It is set up well with Butler, ZL and TakePhone. But I am tired of Blazer and more of my work life and personal life is online.
I am carrying an itouch until I can prove that an iphone can replace my palm world. I have had the itouch for a month and still not convinced. There are many "basic" applications that I need and the iphone/touch doesn't have unless you go the jail broken. Then again, I really hate carrying two devices.
Looking forward to watching your progressHandheld devices: Palm IIIxe, Sony SL10, Sony SJ30, Palm T|T, Palm T3, Palm T5, Palm TX, Treo 755p, Palm Pre, HTC EVO
Friends made in palm OS communities: priceless
