crossing usb chargers
I have an old Ipod Nano and an 8gig Ipod Touch. Can I use the usb charger from my ipod touch to charge my nano? Can I use the usb charger from my nano to charge my touch? I can't think of a reason why this would hurt, but I can't seem to find anything on google search. I don't want to just try it for fear of frying batteries, but if it works, it would make traveling easier to not worry about 50 different charging cords.
Thanks!!!!

Re: crossing usb chargers
If the connectors match and the voltage ratings on the chargers are also in the same range, why not ?

Re: crossing usb chargers
I agree with you, but how do I find the voltage of the charges? It is not on the USB cable. that was the first thing I looked for. I would look on Apple.com, but my nano is like first generation. I am not sure if the charging specs have changed with newer models.

Re: crossing usb chargers
usually, the specs are written or stamped on the charger itself -- the part that plugs into the 110 wall outlet
fwiw, there's no problem doing this with a 2nd or 3rd gen Nano and an iPod Touch
EDIT: please pardon my poor manners…

Re: crossing usb chargers
thanks for the welcoming, just for clarification, I am not working with the wall chargers, it is just the ubs to plug into my computer. I will have to find out if the nano I have is the first gen or not. I bought it like two years ago at Walmart.

Re: crossing usb chargers
If you can use the cord to charge the iPod from a computer's USB port, the voltage is fine and interchangeable.
