Default I saw an iPhone 3G in the wild the other day.

You have to understand, that's a surprise for me: I'm fairly certain that I'm the only person in my town who owns high-end mobile devices. I may even be the only person in town who doesn't use Verizon. So it makes a sort of sense, then, that it didn't belong to someone local: it was clipped to the purse of an Erie County legislator who came out to talk up her run for our State Senate seat. Still, this is the first time I've seen an iPhone actually being owned by somebody, which was a bit cool.

I'm with you, Adama; I have never seen an iPhone except in photos. No one here in the whole state of Vermont is allowed to have one (no AT&T coverage anywhere in the state).

Pretty cool. Around here, all you see are Instincts, Centros, and regular iphones.

My co worker has the new one...she's got it wrapped up in a case though so you can't tell the difference.

I have rarely seen anybody who doesn't have something made by RIM. Including regular phones, it's something like 90%BB, 4%BJ II, 4% regular phones, and 2% anything else. And almost everyone I've talked to that has any type of smartphone at all has no idea whatsoever that it can do more than just texting, email, internet, phone, and basic PIM.
    Past and current devices: Palm m505 (Sold) > Palm Zire 71 (nonfunctional working) > Tapwave Zodiac 1 (nonfunctional) > Palm Tungsten T5 (nonfunctional tenatively functioning) + SE w300i + 2GB SanDisk SD + Cheap $5 keyboard (that works…)(sold) > Cingular 8125 (retired) + 2GB MicroSD in adapter > Nokia N800 + 4GB SDHC + 8125's 2GB MicroSD in adapter + Palm M505

LOL, it is unusual for me on a typical busride or BART ride to not see an iPhone!

Yeah, and they generally block the exits so they can stand in the vestibule and flip album covers.

gawd, my 25 year old assistant now has a red BB curve. The gal that sits in front of her, has the original iphone. I'm still carrying my 755p, and an ipod touch. The bold looks too large for my next phone, I'm prolly going with the curve, or next model of that sexy little smartphone. We'll see.

I saw a few blackberries, and a couple iPhones back in Jan, on the trollies in SF, so not just bart riders are using them. Didn't see any treo's. I feel so ooooold hat.
nuvi 765t, iPhone 5, Still waiting on BB10 phones to review. Primarily Mac focused, only using my PC's when dragged kicking and screaming.

In Columbus, NC (where we moved a few months ago) I'm the only person I know with a smart phone, much less an iPhone.

In Charlotte (where we moved from) I personally knew 5 other iPhone owners.

Oh my, they do that don't they. Just back from Safeway and what do you know an iPhone user was trying to walk and steer at the same time crossed me twice.
