    Application: Trulia
    Price: free
    Requirements: iTunes, PC or Mac
    Grade: A+
    -------------
My first A given Trulia, dumb name, uses their own map or google to locate and detail open houses, no zoom but the info is rich and the locator as fast. Trulia gives you the option to connect via google map and a button pops up to link back to the info at any time, sweet.

    Application: Gas Bag
    Price: Free
    Requirements: iTunes, PC or Mac
    Grade: A+
    -------------
I'm on a roll tonight! This app is more than the desktop widget by far,
    1. log book
    2. community feel, very easy to add your updates on price and new gas stations to the GasBag database
    3. option to display any of four grades. I just gassed up yesterday and the price at my station is only off by a penny
    4. uses the google map

    Grade: B-

I gave it a low grade simply because its idea of sending a sound file to yourself or others is through FTP, seriously, how many consumers use FTP?

But they say email is coming. The also have a pro-version but I didn't bother looking only want a quick voice recording free app it delivers, but I'm not sure yet how to adjust the record volume ... anyone?

    Fantastic! Perfect!

Too bad I'm not a big TV watcher. Also allows viewing of 5 versions of TV, and theater, too many features to address here. The only thing that I would suggest to improve is TV search based upon like increments of the day, not just time frame being viewed.

    Application: Air Sharing
    Price: $6.99
Requirements: iPhone 2.0, a computer on a Wifi network
    Grade: A+
    -------------
It's among the more expensive iPhone apps, but Air Sharing solves two issues with the iPhone:
1.) It provides a very simple way to load files onto the iPhone.
2.) It allows you to easily view those files in a wide variety of formats.

Air Sharing creates a folder (and any subfolders you want) on your iPhone, and then mounts that folder on your Wifi network as a network drive which you can access on your computer.

With Air Sharing running and the iPhone in range of your Wifi, simply open the Air Share folder you'll find under My Network Places on your PC. Drag into that folder any files you want to load onto your iPhone and take away for later viewing.

(Air Sharing supposedly works with Mac and Linux boxes too. Also, any computer in the network can view files in your iPhone's Air Share folder through a browser.)

You can set a password to protect your private files, and a Public subfolder to share with guests.

On the iPhone, you can view the stored files in a huge range of formats including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, HTML, text, RTF and any audio, video and image formats.

I've used Air Sharing for almost two weeks now, and I find it fast and hiccup-free.

    Application: BibleXpress
    Price: $29.99
Requirements: not sure, but don't need to be connected to access
    Grade: B+ (?)

The cost is steep so I never posted this one before (i think). Decided to post today because it turns out The Message version is a totally free upgrade, that completely caught me by surprise O&N too! who knows maybe everyone does that these days just to be competitive, but they weren't doing that 2 years ago, for a robust version that is.

    Application: Stanza
    Price: Free
Requirements: iTunes, PC or Mac, Stanza Desktop if you want to put your own books in
    Grade: A-
    ----------

Stanza is a personal favorite of mine, it makes e-books very easy to read on the device, is FREE!, and the online catalog is a definete winner. Only problem I have with it is that it seems to be only functionally compatible with non-copyrighted, public domain texts. DRM-protected texts are not supported. If the book you want isn't in its catalog or you have a non-DRM text you want to read on the device, transferring is easy with Stanza Desktop. Just follow the directions on the Lexcycle site, ensure your firewall(s) has exceptions for the ports Apple Bonjour uses, and you should be good.

If Lexcycle can strike a deal with major publishers to allow purchase of copyrighted texts right from its catalog feature, or from Stanza Desktop, this application will get a solid A+.

I saw something called "Assignments". Not quite a Gradebook but may be of interest to you.
