Ipod Touch Ebook reader
I hope that when Apple opens the door for third party apps that Mobi or some other Ebook reader sites realizes what a huge group they could get by adding the Iphone/Itouch to their services. I have seen a hacked touch with a ebook reader and it was great.

Re: Ipod Touch Ebook reader
I read somewhere that ereader is looking into porting to the iPhone. I have no doubts that someone will step up. It will be interesting to see if Mobi does, given that they are owned by Amazon...

Re: Ipod Touch Ebook reader
I would think that Itunes might start a book section, the have Songs, Movies, and software, so it would make sense to do books as well.

I wouldn't doubt it, actually I'm surprised that they don't already. We all know that Steve Jobs is trying to take over the world along with Pinky and the Brain.
...ok, it's an old cartoon. Google it, why don't ya?

No, he'd be that irritating scientist who ruins everything.Would that be Steve Jobs as the Brain and Jonathan Ives as Pinky?

Re: Ipod Touch Ebook reader
If you need an ebook reader now, you might try Readdle (spelled like that). You can upload several different file types to the service (including Plucker PDB files) and it will serve them to your Touch via Safari. And if your uploaded files are small enough (100 KB last I checked, which is pretty small), the service actually can download the files onto your Touch and you can add buttons for them on you home screen.
I'm a subscriber (currently, the service is free!) and I use it for schedules and syllabi for my courses. It renders PDFs exactly as they are uploaded and other files, like the Plucker PDBs, are quite legible.
