iPod Touch Ships without OS X
I found this yesterday and found it interesting. Cereal box used as a Serial Number Icon
What's most interesting is the Bluetooth icon. Is there Bluetooth hidden in the firmware of the device that can be revealed by Apple through an update? Very interesting.

Re: iPod Touch Ships without OS X
I believe that somebody dissected the Touch and determined that there didn't appear to be any Bluetooth hardware in it, though it wasn't possible to be sure.

Re: iPod Touch Ships without OS X
It's possible that they were/are reusing code and bits of firmware from the iPhone, making it easier to simply hide the icon for Bluetooth than to remove it entirely.

Re: iPod Touch Ships without OS X
There is an application I found through a Google search that proofs the vibration on the iPod Touch. I might be mistaken for the iPhone. I will test it as soon as I get my iPod Touch.

Re: iPod Touch Ships without OS X
Apple has almost become renown for software features in advance of hardware ones. For instance, OS X had support for WiFi N for some time before Apple unlocked it. Then when they announced they did, I thought it was pretty stupid, because none of the notebooks at the time had N wireless. I was wrong, though: All of the most recent models, including the iMac, had N onboard.
That's not a perfect example, but I wouldn't be surprised if the touch either has secret BT capabilities or is designed to hold a BT module in the future. All supported by a simple unlock of the software.
