    I agree ... and most of these "whoops" problems can be fixed easily with software upgrades. But it's still a phone that's fun to use, and it's still a whole lot better than most other phones out there - so "unenlightened" people may not notice the shortcomings as much.

    I kinda think that (for the price) it's junk. I mean, certainly I'd take one if it cost less than a decent Pocket PC SmartPhone ... but it's just not worth it.

    The big BIG plus, the most significant cool thing this device introduces to market: a solid kick to the competitors which will drive actual products with actual improvements. This device might be the fountain of youth for the elderly PDA market.

    Hopefully it'll kill the dominane of the pathetic abundance of QVGA PDA/SP devices & promote powerful HVGA/VGA touchscreen units.

    I just hope no one copies the iPhone's omission of the face buttons/QWERTY.

    Genjinaro;
    LG Prada is close, as is the HTC Touch. I wish that others would as well, and someone (Palm) would come up with a touchscreen that's usable, fun, and completly functional too (haptic feedback please )
    If your smartphone is so smart, then why are you spending so much time learning it? Shouldn't it learn you and adapt to your leanings?

    The reviews were mostly very good but from a stock point of view, I'd be surprised if it's not a down week for Apple. There is just too much profit taking potential from people who bought before (myself included) or during the big run up and many people are trained to buy on the rumor and sell on the news. The news here is that the iPhone actually gets released. I think Apple is still a great value long term. Just my opinion here, please don't base any financial dealings on my ramblings.

    LOL, you mean your super moderator status doesn't imply omniscience (sp)!

    Kramer et al have been pushing "Buy Apple On Any Weakness" but it appears there's a weakness and subsequent recovery every other day. LOL

    wait a sec,

    looking at this thread for the AT&T rate plans, the data plan is only $20 UNLIMITED!

    It's the minutes that seem outrageous, but I pay $50 for 500 minutes rollover, so the iPhone rate plan is in the ballpark after all, its just that AT&T in general is expensive sans and prior to the iPhone, hmmm ...

    There was this one time when I tried day trading. It wasn't Apple but another stock. I followed it for 3 weeks and every day about an hour before the market closed it would go up and then go back down right at the close. I had the pattern down pat. The day I bought it was the day it stopped following that pattern and also the last time I ever tried day trading.

    Gosh CC, I confess, I both laughed and cried, your story is anecdotal yet ... tragic!

    However, in my chuckles I identified with you, thus humor emphatically gave birth to solidarity in a shared experience!

    1 of the few things that I respect about the iPhone, its nothing to cough at.
    I heart cheap data-plans.
