Default Running multiple palms on the same PC

I have a Palm IIIXe and just gave a Palm M105 to a family member for Christmas. Is it possible to install both PDA's including cradles on the same PC(Windows 98SE)? I do not wish to share any data between the PDA's.

Yes, you can do this. You can use the same desktop software and the same cradle. The only thing is to make sure that both Palms and accounts have different user names and you sync to those acounts accordingly.

You will be only able to use one serial connection to hotsync on your PC.

The cradles for the m105 and IIIxe are differant, the IIIxe should work in m105 cradle, just isn't held in tight.

The Palm desktop via hotsync manager will ID the Palm connected by its user name. So make sure you do not have the same name on both units.

Default Different versions of Palm OS & Desktop

So all I really need to do is create another user account in the Palm Desktop that shipped with the M105 and both the IIIXe and 105 databases can be managed by the same desktop? This is the part that I was not sure about, I did not know if a specific version of the Palm Desktop was required by a specific Palm OS version. Thanks for the replies.:-)

You can use the same version of Palm Desktop for both Palms (I'd suggest Palm Desktop 4.0.1 if you're on XP, or Palm Desktop 4.1 if you're on anything else).

As for managing multiple cradles, the easiest thing to do is to use a serial switch box or USB hub (depending on the nature of your cradles).

Default Same true for IIIxe and m125?

Is all this discussion the same for the IIIxe (mine) and the m125(spouse's)?

Yes, except that the m125 uses a USB cradle and the IIIxe uses a serial cradle, so you'll need a free port of each type.
