Palm IIIC dead??
I had not used Palm IIIC for a few months. I turned it on and then Hot Synced. In the middle of doing so It disconnected. The screen is now VERY dim and fuzzy. I tried toHotSynch againbut it did notwork. The light willcome onthe cradle and then go off after a few seconds even though it is seated well. All connections are good as far as PC to cradle and electric outlet. I have also done a hard reset. Do you think it is the battery? Suggestions PLEASE!!!!

Did you see the 'erase all data?' message during your hard reset.
Sounds most definetly like a hardware issue, and if you did see the erase all data message, it's defintely in need of repair.
(palm charges US$125/$150 for repairs)

I think that I did but since it was about 3 weeks ago, I am not sure. I had already saved all data into a folderon desktopbut since I can't get it to hot sync now it won't do me any good for this palm. So you don't think it is a battery problem?

Well anything is possible, and honestly, once you narrow it down to a "physical" problem my experience is fairly limited. (i.e. I won't really know what causes the problem, only how to identifiy it.)
In my opinion I would doubt it to be a battery problem -- generally when it's a battery they just won't hold, or accept a charge.
However -- that being said, if you do a hard reset, and see the erase all data message (and of course say yes!) you've done a proper hard reset and there is nothing else you could try to fix it yourself. (short of taking a palm self-repair course <G>).
If it goes away after a hard reset, it's definetly a software issue. If this happens, let us know and we can help you with that.
I'm guessing you will find this to be hardware tho, it's pretty extreme for a software conflict. Always worth a try tho.

Power problems?
I have had a similar problem with the little yellow light.
My problem was that it was not turning on at all.
The solution was a bad connection between the power cable and serial plug.
How you can fix it is by inserting the power cable half way into the serial plug and trying again, or spinning the power cable around untill you get a good connection.
Hope this helps,
D. Kirker

You can contact Palm Medic or STNE for less expensive repairs.
