    Default Palm IIIxe Not working with email.

    I have been trying to figure out how to get a Palm IIIxe to work with outlook. I had been working for a long time and then just quit. So I reinstalled Palm Desktop using the cd that came with it and still nothing. So i installed the latest version of th Palm Desktop and it still is not working. Anyone know how I can fix this?

    I haven't used my IIIxe in years, but as I recall, I had this problem at one point. I don't think it's a problem with the Desktop software. There's an e-mail conduit on the CD that you need to install -- and I don't think you'll find it on Palm's website.

    If I get a chance, I'll look for it at home, and try to give a more complete answer. In the mean time, please update if you get this fixed.

    Ok a little thing to add to this, I have installed Palm Desktop under a differnt profile, and it seems to have installed the mail portion or the hotsync. I can not test it because I do not currently have the device, but hopefully that helps someone help me.

    So no suggestions on this issue? The only thing i can think of is recreating the profile for the user.

    What desktop operating system are you utilizing?

    And version of Outlook?

    If you installed the desktop from the CD provided with the IIIxe it should include a eMail conduit, which will require seprate procedure to setup.

    Actually if I recall correctly, you do not setup this conduit to sync with Outlook, but utilize Outlook to access the POP3 accounts as a client. Or you can use any other eMail client software that is defined as your Primary email service in Internet Explorer.

    Setting up the PocketMirror conduits to Outlook only provides access to the PIM apps, datebook, addressbook, Memo Pad and ToDos. This setup does not provide email connectivity.

    I recall the download desktop version 4.01 may provide eMail conduit, or is it Expense????

    However, if the eMail conduit is present you can maintain this conduit is you apply the newer desktop versions as an overlay.

    Your answer maybe difficult to answer, as many of us early adopters, may have forgotten the tricks to implement, or never did, as it was to easy to consume your memory, and there were just so many 3rd party apps to play with.

    Let us know if and what you are actually requiring, but from memory, it is rather straight forward;

    via Program Files, hover over Palm Desktop, the field should expand, and include Email setup, select, then follow the steps.

    Sorry I thought I had included that information. Running on Windows XP Pro, with outlook 2003, in a network environment. Email use to work, when it stoped working tried acouple things and it still would not sync, so i reinstalled, and from then on it doesn't show up as an option. As for the memory there is still plenty of memory and we are using the capura pocket mirror.
