    Default green light flashing

I took my i705 to work today and the green light started flashing

As far as I know I have all the wireless stuff turned off. Why then would the green light flash?

Is there a way to shut all that off without having to resort to painting over the light as some folks suggested for years ago when the wireless service WAS available...

The green light was multi functional. It glows when you are charging it, it glows/flashes (or it did) while you were browsing the web. It glowed when you had new mail. It also can glow if you've had an alarm go off.

There is an option under system preferences to disable this.

Are you using DateBk5? There should also be an option to disable datebk5 from activating the led light as well.

I'd have to ask my sister in law to look at her (was mine) i705 for further specifics..

Where, exactly, do you disable the light? I looked under prefs and can't find it.

The flashing green light drove me nuts, so I covered it with black electrical tape. I can still see it just a little through that, but it's better.

Are you trying to generaly disable it, or disable it within DateBk5?

I'll have to see if I can't get ahold of my old i705 to look...

I have a Treo 650. The light is on the top left of the exterior casing. It is constantly on, although it changes colors or flashes depending on what it's doing. I would like to disable it completely.

Before the electrical tape, keeping it on my bedside table was like trying to sleep with a strobe light.

Err.. uhm... you do realize that this post is more specific to the green light on the i705...??

You'll probably want to post this in the Treo 650 forum. I can't help you with this, as I don't have one... sorry!

Oh, duh. Sorry! I did a search and thought I was searching in the 650 forum.

    I'll go post there.

    Thanks.
