How can I try to get more coverage in North Austin?

I just bought a Palm i705, and I live in the North part of Austin, Texas. Coverage does not seem that good, and I cannot get any kind of signal inside my apartment. Can I buy something that will help with my connection or do I just have to wait for some sort of change in infrastructure? Thanks for any help anyone can give me!

I can't think of anything you could do on your own. You may want to wander around and see if there's some spots in your apartment with better reception than others.

Samehere. I was wondering if a way existed to hack the antenna or transmitter to extend the range.

I had a cell phone that would barely work in the area I live and discovered it wsa a quarter wave (3inch)antenna, unlike the halfwave (6 inch) the old motorolas I use to use. I got a telescoptic antena and fooled with the length from half to full wave length and improved the performance and stopped the drop outs.
