    Hi everyone!

I had some troubles building a new ROM with build 21905.
I have solved most problems and I hope to have a good working ROM ready next week.

    Thanks sony66.
I have the latest version wm6.5.0.92-21905_V1.01.15-430-WWE and I have to say that it is much more stable than previous ones.
The problem of wireless is fixed.
It is true that in the About screen affects the ROM version is 2091, I believe this is due to a problem when you mount the ROM.
A ROM as stable as 23016.
Regards and hope to hear from their work.

    Sorry for my poor English

I'm having lots of problems with wireless (both the 21901 & 21905) versions. Sometimes I can connect to my router and sometimes I can't (mostly I can't).
Before flashing to 21901 the wireless connection was rock solid, never a problem since the day I bought it (years ago). With the stock OS I was "green" within a few seconds and surfing the net. Now I'm lucky if I can get a working connection at all. Here are a few observations:

    1) Sometimes the Wireless icon turns green but in "Configure Wireless Connections"it remains "connecting"
An IP address is obtained but in "Configure Wireless Connections" it never shows "connected", only "connecting"
    Pinging the router fails (vxUtil)
Neither IE nor Opera will display a web page.
    2) Sometmes the wireless icon turns green and shows "connected"
    An IP address is obtained
    Pinging the routers fails (vxUtil)
Neither IE nor Opera will display a web page.
    3) Problems 1 and 2 occur whether I'm trying to connect to my home router or to another router. i.e problems 1 & 2 occur when I'm trying to:
    b) connect to various open networks
    - at the pub - to Linksys routers with no protection (don't ask me why but all of the pubs I frequent use Linksys routers with no protection)
    - at my favourite lunch spot - no protection - manufacturer unknown
    4) With no changes to either my router or to the 210 I will try to connect (simply turning off/on wireless on the IPAQ) for up to an hour and eventually will obtain a usable connection
    5) Soft resets of the IPAQ or the router don't seem to have any impact on whether or not a usable connection is obtained.

Any constructive help would be appreciated.

Disable ipaq wireless on the today screen and soft reset. This might help.

The stock ROM has an older WiFi driver, my ROMs contain the driver from the WiFi update from the HP site. (version 38.p44) and other added settings.
Can you check if the WiFi firmware version is: 9.70.3.23 and HW version is: 30.

Did you install the WiFi driver as posted on the HP site?

Thanks for taking the time to respond sony66.

The Asset Viewer shows that the Firmware Version is 9.70.3.23, Hardware Revision is 30 and the Driver Version is 38.p44

I didn't install the WiFi driver from the HP site.

I turned off wireless, removed IPAQWireless from the Today screen and did a soft reset. I hope that's what you had in mind. It's too soon to tell if it has made a difference; I'll monitor it and post an update later.

Default English ROM with not English input.

    Hi Everyone!
I have some questions, hope somebody has the answers:

    1. Is it possible to make an English rom "wm 6.5" to the 210 with Japanese input IME?
    2. Also "if it is not coming with the Japanese input system" with Japanese font support to actually view Japanese text in Internet browsers, mail etc.
    3. To build a custom ROM is the way to solve this issue or are there an "easier" way?

I see we have a Japanese ROM and English ROM too, so that is why I am asking.
So guys with the knowledge, pls give me a hint if it is worth the time to look into this by myself, or is it an impossible task?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    1. Yes, it is possible. I have done so on my 210 using the kitchens from the old Rom Center thread and some files from my own JPN 6.1 ROM which I managed to decompose. For most users cab files would be much more handy, I think, but those I found weren't working properly and I don't think I've enough time and skill to make proper ones yet.
    2. And I can display Japanese characters in all major applications.

    3. I built myself a custom ROM but didn't manage to replace the wince.nls properly, so I need to user reloadnls.exe and a re-copied version of wince.nls (only reads from user rewritable flash, replacing in the kitchen only worked for the OS ROM image, but wince.nls seems to be loaded from another imgfs part which I didn't manage to replace.

latest version I was able to cook is 21901 but I'm using 23016 because I wasn't able to get the home screen to work on the 21901. 23016 has more problems with wireless. So I'm actually waiting for a newer Kitchen to cook with.
