The Palm LifeDrive is Not Being Retired
Amazon frequently lets the cat out of the bag early by showing new products before they're officially announced. This time, they announced the death of a product while it's still very much in production. Palm has confirmed with us that the LifeDrive is indeed not dead and won't be for some time.
Never before have we had to shoot down so many rumors. Last week we killed off the Dell PDA with QWERTY keyboard and Dell Smartphone rumors.

Speculation has been rife over the fate of Palm's LifeDrive model after it was discovered that online retailer Amazon.com lists the device as "Discontinued by manufacturer."Dell is Not Releasing a PDA with Keyboard
Last week a report came out on BusinessWeek.com that Dell would likely be releasing a new PDA with QWERTY keyboard. As exciting as that may be to talk about, it's not going to happen according to Dell.

Re: The Palm LifeDrive is Not Being Retired
I'd tend to think a product would be "dead" if its sales weren't justifying the production costs / giving profits. I don't believe this is the case with the lifedrive...it's still being sold , isn't it? And it's not like it has any major flaws...it seems like a great machine and I think it'll be aroudn for a while unless they plan on refreshing it with a few small updates. Oh yeah, and happy birthday Brian!

If your smartphone is so smart, then why are you spending so much time learning it? Shouldn't it learn you and adapt to your leanings?
