CTIA had nothing much exciting for PDAs, aside from the GSPDA announcement.

I read reviews......I-730 seems to be on track. But an ugly rumor says the I-645 will be 3Q.......
But N/C highly questions the authoritative reference...
The I600 is recently gone from display.....at VZW...
Is this the "Twilight Zone" or space for new arrivals......n/c

Does the possible delay to 3Q include the I-640, or just the I-645?
Thanks.

I can only speculate! "If" this ugly rumor has any merit, I will pass it on. Obviously if the I-645 is delayed, it would appear a camera related topic.....keep you posted......n/c

If this is true I may be Cingulars 50,000,001 customer. I am tired of the CDMA companies and their delay after delay to release phones. They have not put a good smart phone on the market ever. The i500 was and still is a joke and the 600 is not much better for form and usability. Anything short of a Treo (brick) and your out of luck. I hear things like they have rigorous test that they do but after a year the phone is broke or obsolete anyway. I have heard no reports on GSM phones breaking or falling apart, they seem to be doing fine. I hope this is not true VZ needs this phone ASAP.

Before you bail on VZW, give it a week or so. Smartphones, are obviously slow out of the gate and more so with CDMA.
It is difficult to produce a smt/ph to begin with. Considering the detail of construction and the most current operating system available at the time being built. All of which must be built quickly and meet strong testing standards in production. We are talking tens of thousands of,...."smart" cell phones. Remember it is a PDA/Phone and Camera in some cases. All in a wallet size mass. Truly amazing when you think about it…….
One tiny flaw in production and not only new job openings appear, but a huge loss in current standings with other carriers….
By the way, GSM is cheaper which accounts for a broader menu of phones…. And not necessarily better…but that’s another topic……..n/c

Oh I am not bailing yet. I will be waiting certainly because I want VZ as most everyone I know has them. The free cell to cell is a big selling point. I just am tired of waiting is all. I understand the money and technology put into this stuff but it seems to me that CDMA has really missed the boat on getting worth while stuff on the market. Sprint being the worst! It seems to me the VZ spent their time on pushing the phone companies around and telling them what they want and will allow all the while GSM said build us your best and we will take it. The fact that VZ only allows "whip" style antennas is a joke. Certainly internal and stub are the best. This is just another example of them being a bully and using their weight to push companies around the school yard. But darn it, they do have a great system and the reception is unmatched in the industry! Darn them!

Concerning VZ allowing only “Whip” style antennas and pushing phone companies around the school yard……
Verizon does not dictate to phone manufactures how they construct their phones….. They do collaborate concerning limits on software applications in addition to band frequency’s.
I do understand your frustration in waiting. I have been waiting for the I-730 since November/04. This will be out very, very soon and unless you are sold in a flip smt/ph, I-640, the I-730 is extremely impressive…………n/c

The only thing I am sold on is the size of the 640/645. I had the Treo and it was just to big. Great unit but just to big. I need small which is why that Moto is looking pretty good at this point but to be honest with you, that is going to be obsolete in a few months now. I am really waiting for this new Samsung but hope I do not have to wait past next week.

If the Moto your refering to is the mpx 220, they were pulled from shelves for a time period......at least in Vegas...If your considering the mpx300 it performs very slow and even freezes up...but they will fix that on the next generation.....n/c
