Top picture appears to have a thicker column on the right side that almost looks like a silo for a digitizer stylus. Bottom does not. I wonder if these are just multiple prototypes as opposed to one final design they've settled on.
Regardless, I'm glad to see forward progress on the Surface Phone. I'm a little ticked off at each of the three WP8 OEMs, each for different reasons.Samsung Galaxy S III (U.S. Cellular, unrooted, Launcher8). My review.

I spent quite a bit of time trying to figure out if these were different devices, or if they just looked different because they were are very different angles. In the end, I decided I couldn't tell. Still, there's the possibility that the lower model is much wider than the top one, with a squarer display.

I tried to figure that out too Ed. I lean towards it being just a 'trick' of perspective, since one photo is taken at an odd, oblique angle.
